Youth BMX riders on a dirt track
An MRSG Youth Program

Capital Corridor
Bike Club

Building bikes. Building discipline. Building champions.

A structured youth development and cycling program that teaches young people how to build, fix, ride, race, and respect BMX bikes as part of an organized sport.

Our Mission

More Than a Bike Club

Capital Corridor Bike Club gives youth a safe and structured pathway into BMX riding, racing, bike repair, teamwork, and personal development. The program teaches responsibility, patience, focus, physical fitness, and respect for self, teammates, coaches, and community.

This is a pathway for young people to turn energy into skill, curiosity into craftsmanship, and competition into character. Our riders learn how to take care of their equipment, follow safety rules, train with purpose, and represent their families and communities with pride.

Capital Corridor Bike Club gives youth a positive place to belong, trusted adults to learn from, and a sport that teaches patience, focus, resilience, and respect.

Youth BMX racing competition

Hands-On Learning

Youth build and repair bikes alongside coaches — not just ride them.

Structured Training

Progressive skill development from fundamentals to competition-ready technique.

Organized Competition

Riders compete in BMX-style events representing their club and community.

Mentorship-Based

Every rider is paired with a trusted adult who models discipline and accountability.

Curriculum

What Youth Will Learn

Every rider develops skills on the track and off it. Our curriculum covers the full spectrum of what it means to be a disciplined, capable, and community-minded athlete.

Bike Safety & Helmet Use

Every rider learns the non-negotiables: proper helmet fit, protective gear, track rules, and the discipline to follow them every single time.

BMX Riding Fundamentals

From balance and body position to cornering, jumping, and speed control — riders build real skills through structured, progressive training.

Bike Repair & Maintenance

Youth learn how bikes work from the ground up — brakes, chains, tires, and frames. Knowing your equipment is part of being a serious rider.

Racing & Competition Prep

Riders train for organized BMX events, learning race strategy, starting technique, track reading, and how to compete with focus and composure.

Discipline & Responsibility

Showing up on time, caring for equipment, following instructions, and holding yourself accountable — these habits transfer far beyond the track.

Teamwork & Leadership

Riders support each other, push each other, and learn that a strong team is built on trust, communication, and mutual respect.

Healthy Risk-Taking Through Sport

Organized competition teaches youth to take calculated risks, manage fear, and build confidence through preparation — not recklessness.

Respect for Community & Public Spaces

Capital Corridor riders represent their families and neighborhoods. They learn to carry themselves with pride and protect the spaces they use.

Coach mentoring youth on bicycle skills

Program Model

Hands-On. Structured. Mentorship-Based.

Capital Corridor Bike Club is a hands-on youth development model where young people do more than ride. They learn how bikes work, how to care for equipment, how to train, how to compete, and how to carry themselves with discipline on and off the track.

Sessions combine bike mechanics instruction, riding fundamentals, physical conditioning, and character development — all delivered by coaches who hold youth to a high standard because they believe in their potential.

Why This Matters

Youth Need More Than a Place to Go

They need something real to work toward, trusted adults who believe in them, and a community that holds them to a higher standard.

1

Youth need positive outlets that channel energy into skill and purpose.

2

Trusted mentors provide the structure and consistency many young people lack.

3

Organized sport builds confidence, patience, and resilience that last a lifetime.

4

Bike mechanics teaches problem-solving, focus, and pride in craftsmanship.

5

Competition gives youth something real to train for — and a community to belong to.

“Capital Corridor Bike Club uses cycling, competition, and bike mechanics to help youth build confidence, patience, responsibility, and pride.”

Mentorship

Coaches Who Show Up Every Time

Mentors in Capital Corridor Bike Club are not just instructors. They are consistent, trusted adults who model the discipline, accountability, and emotional control they expect from every rider.

Discipline & Accountability

Coaches hold riders to clear expectations — on time, geared up, focused, and ready. Consistency is the standard.

Safety First, Always

Every mentor enforces helmet use, protective gear, and track safety rules without exception. Safety is non-negotiable.

Emotional Coaching

Mentors teach riders how to handle frustration, setbacks, and competition pressure with composure and resilience.

Competition & Racing

Train Hard. Race Smart. Represent with Pride.

Youth in Capital Corridor Bike Club will have opportunities to train, race, join teams, compete in BMX-style events, and represent their community on the track. Competition is structured, safe, and built around preparation.

Riders learn that winning starts long before race day — in the shop, on the practice track, and in the discipline they bring to every session. When they line up to compete, they are ready.
