Director Advocacy and Strategic Planning
Introducing Tanisha "Patience" Peer – Advocacy and Strategic Planning Leader
The Moore Resource and Strategy Group proudly welcomes Tanisha "Patience" Peer, a dedicated advocate and strategist who leads our Advocacy and Strategic Planning Departments. With a lifelong commitment to justice and equity, Patience has been a beacon of hope and change for countless individuals and communities.
A former radio host, Patience used her platform to amplify the voices of marginalized communities, tackling critical issues such as women’s rights, education, gun control, housing equity, and human rights. Her ability to engage, inform, and inspire made her a powerful force in the fight for systemic change.
However, it was the devastating loss of her beloved nephew, Danari, to traffic violence that reignited her passion for advocacy. Realizing that her voice, leadership, and strategic approach were more vital than ever, Patience recommitted herself to fighting for safer streets, systemic accountability, and real, sustainable solutions.
Though she had previously stepped back from community work due to policy failures and the lack of solution-based approaches, her impact remained undeniable. The initiatives she spearheaded proved the power of actionable change, reinforcing the importance of policies that empower communities rather than hinder them.
Now, as a key leader within The Moore Resource and Strategy Group, Patience brings unwavering drive, strategic insight, and deep compassion to her work. She fights for Milwaukee’s most vulnerable communities, ensuring that every individual is treated with dignity, fairness, and humanity.
For Patience, advocacy is not just a profession—it is her calling. With the heart of a lion and the resilience of a warrior, she remains steadfast in the fight for justice, safety, and accountability, ensuring that no voice goes unheard and no community is left behind.

Introducing Mickey Critton – Director of Grief and Trauma Support
Paralegal, Grief Counselor, Minister, and Community Advocate
The Moore Resource and Strategy Group is honored to introduce Mickey Critton, a dedicated paralegal, grief counselor, and advocate whose remarkable journey exemplifies resilience, transformation, and service.
After spending nearly two decades in prison, Mickey emerged with a renewed sense of purpose—determined to rebuild his life and uplift others. His transition into a career as an arborist reflected his commitment to nurturing and preserving life, a powerful metaphor for his personal transformation. But his dedication to service runs even deeper. Having become a minister years before, faith became his guiding force, helping him navigate both personal struggles and the opportunities to serve his community.
Mickey’s faith was tested in the most devastating way when he lost his son to gun violence. Rather than allowing grief to consume him, he turned his pain into purpose, becoming a fierce advocate for families facing similar tragedies. He has worked tirelessly to support those who feel unheard, offering both emotional support and strategic solutions to address systemic failures.
Now, as Director of Grief and Trauma Support with the Moore Resource and Strategy Group, Mickey brings his unique perspective as a survivor, father, minister, and legal advocate to the fight for justice and systemic change. His ability to connect deeply with those he serves—offering compassion, guidance, and legal insight—makes him an invaluable asset to our team and the communities we support.
Mickey’s leadership in grief and trauma support extends beyond individual cases; he is actively working to develop programs that provide long-term healing, advocacy, and resources for those impacted by violence and systemic injustice. His ability to navigate both legal and emotional complexities ensures that families receive the support they need to heal, reclaim their power, and fight for justice.
Mickey Critton is more than a survivor; he is a pillar of strength, hope, and justice, dedicated to helping families heal, find closure, and push for meaningful change.
Shawn Moore – Community Advocate, Organizer, Consultant, and Podcast Host
Shawn Moore is a dedicated community advocate, organizer, and consultant with a strong history of leadership in grassroots activism, political strategy, violence prevention, and community justice. His expertise spans union organizing, policy implementation, coalition-building, and public safety, making him a key figure in Milwaukee’s advocacy landscape.
Shawn began his career in 2012 as a union organizer, playing a pivotal role in policy advocacy and wage reform. He was instrumental in launching the Fight for $15 movement in Milwaukee, pushing for economic justice and fair wages. In 2014, he transitioned into community organizing with a focus on violence prevention, co-founding multiple organizations dedicated to public safety, justice, and advocacy.
His political experience includes serving as campaign manager for James Methu’s mayoral run and later becoming part of former Mayor Tom Barrett’s team in 2016. During that time, Shawn played a key role in introducing David Bowen to Milwaukee residents, significantly increasing voter turnout in crucial districts that led to Bowen’s election victory. His extensive and collaborative relationships with local, county, and state public officials continue to make him an influential connector in political and community spaces.
As a co-founder and leader of several violence prevention initiatives, Shawn has worked on numerous cases where families sought justice, contributing to convictions and exonerations. Under his leadership, Neighbors H.O.O.D.(Helping Others Obtain Direction) Ambassadors played a integral role in Milwaukee achieving a 30% homicide reduction over a two-and-a-half-year period. His work has also led to the shutdown of businesses involved in fraudulent activities and public safety threats, including one establishment responsible for millions in food stamp fraud and another that was closed after multiple violent incidents, including a homicide.
Shawn has been a strong advocate for local business development, assisting entrepreneurs in securing licenses and permits while also working with families to resolve disputes. His ability to connect people, foster collaborations, and build coalitions has made him a sought-after specialist in community development and advocacy. Additionally, he has trained law enforcement officers on community relations and collaboration, helping bridge gaps between police and the neighborhoods they serve.
Recognizing the need for strategic solutions to community issues, Shawn gathered some of the brightest minds in advocacy, policy, and development to form the Moore Resource and Strategy Group. This consulting firm is dedicated to providing innovative solutions for community engagement, political strategy, business development, and violence prevention, leveraging the collective expertise of its members to drive impactful change.
Beyond his advocacy work, Shawn is a podcast host, sharing insights on community issues, culture, and policy. A dedicated mentor, he has guided dozens of men who have gone on to achieve success in various fields. He is also a proud father of six young men embodying the values of commitment, leadership, and family.
With an unwavering commitment to justice, economic equity, and community empowerment, Shawn Moore continues to be a driving force for positive change, leveraging his experience and relationships to create lasting impact.
Why Shawn Moore Launched His Consulting Business
After an unfortunate incident Shawn Moore found himself questioning his purpose. A lifelong advocate for the voiceless, he now faced an unjust attempt to silence his own voice. His deep commitment to the community—one that had shaped and guided him as a youth—had made him a target. The experience forced him into a period of reflection, but it did not break his resolve.
After five years away from community work, tragedy struck when Shawn’s nephew was murdered. This devastating loss reignited his passion for advocacy, but with a renewed focus on solution-based organizing. No longer just fighting against injustice, he was determined to build strategies and resources that create real, lasting change. From this vision, The Moore Resource and Strategy Group was born.
Shawn’s consulting firm is a direct response to the challenges he has faced and overcome. It is a vehicle for empowering communities, guiding organizations, and developing strategic solutions to tackle issues ranging from violence prevention to business development and political strategy. His personal journey—from activism to adversity and back to leadership—fuels The Moore Resource and Strategy Group: to build stronger, more connected, and solution-driven communities.
