At The Moore Resource and Strategy Group, we are practitioners shaped by real-world experience, not theory. Our work is grounded in decades of direct engagement with communities impacted by violence, instability, and systemic neglect. We bring together lived experience, strategic thinking, and on-the-ground knowledge to help citizens, organizations, institutions, and neighborhoods prevent harm before it escalates. Everything we do is rooted in trust, accountability, and a commitment to preserving life.
This work was born from loss, responsibility, and choice. After the death of my nephew, I saw firsthand how violence doesn’t stop at one life—it ripples through families, children, and entire communities.
Shawn M. Moore Sr. is the founder of the Life Preservation Model (LPM), a pre-trauma violence prevention framework built from lived experience, community practice, and the discipline of showing up consistently. After the death of his nephew, Marvin Cottrell Jr., Shawn began organizing in the summer of 2013, connecting with others who carried similar lived experience and were ready to stop the cycle.
That work led to the launch of Project Make A Change (PMAC) out of Milwaukee’s Garden Homes neighborhood, expanding across Milwaukee’s North Side with a focus on consistent presence, relationship-based engagement, and prevention before conflict becomes trauma. After the uprisings following the killing of Dontre Hamilton, Shawn partnered with khalil Coleman and created the Safe Zones. Shawn officially introduced the Neighborhood Ambassadors model—bringing structured, community-grounded prevention into the places where tension rises fastest.
